This kid is so cute! This was my first scripted television commercial and it was a real pleasure to work on it. I decided to go out on a limb and cut this spot in Avid Media Composer. This project was shot on an Arri Alexa with Cooke Mini Primes. The edit was completed in Adobe Premiere CC 2014. Finishing was done in DaVinci Resolve 10, Lustre and Flame.
New Balance, in an effort to highlight the release of the 990 sneaker, commissioned several videos that highlighted the process of its creation. “Beethoven” is the trailer for the online campaign, a look into the process of creating the mesh for the 990 and other NB shoes.There was something very choreographed about the process of making the meshes, a ballet of wheels and gears. Classical music was an obvious choice.
Portfolio Night is a global event that puts young new designers in front of experienced Creative Directors. The CDs review the newbie’s work, comment on it and bestow advice to get their careers off the ground. Each office who was tasked with hosting the event made an original short film. SapientNitro decided to take the comical approach to emphasize the importance of idea over everything. Shot on a Saturday, Cut in Avid MC6 and graded in After Effects, this short took four days to create. It was the second most-viewed Portfolio Night video of 2013.

Dodge was looking for a new and innovative campaign for the release of the 2013 Dodge Dart. Myself and a small team of co-workers at SapientNitro created a manifesto to capture the tone of the “Dart On” campaign. We scoured the Internet for footage and I was tasked with editing the piece, practically overnight. From start to finish it took around 36 hours to complete the video. It’s not perfect, but I believe it conveys a powerful message.

Steve Angello, most notable for being 1/3 of the super-group Swedish House Mafia, DJed a set at Quincy’s Ocean Club at Marina Bay. This video is a recap of that wild night, where nothing but SIZE mattered. Straying away from traditional DJ show recap videos, the effects-laden opening sets the tone for what felt like another world driven by a nonstop beat. Think of it as a last communication with mankind. I used Adobe software for the edit and effects, while Magic Bullet plugins handled the grade.
Truck, meet Sports Illustrated swimsuit model. Swimsuit model, meet truck. Add a Hawaiian beach and some original dubstep and you have the feature video of the 2012 RAM Laramie Limited. It showcases a highly stylized look that matches the principal web photography, as well as subtle visual effects. As an added bonus, it ran as a 60-second broadcast commercial in Puerto Rico.
